PROBLEM
The customer has a drive lane that runs right next to a helicopter landing pad with two-way traffic that passes in front of the hospital. A 300′ length of the drive lane has to be closed whenever a helicopter is landing. A recoiling strap system was used at both ends of the lane that required at least two security personnel to walk to both ends of the lane to deploy the straps. The straps were a failing point due to the long length and weather exposure.
SOLUTION
DH Pace installed a barrier arm gates with LED lights for maximum visibility. The customer now has the ability to secure the hospital from a central location. The gate control system is scheduled to open and close at specific times to maximize security while minimizing inconvenience.
